In the Temple of the Sacred Gift we have a tradition of lighting a yule log. We bring it out, and all of us pause and give thanks for all the wonderful things we have received this far from the year, and we look back for a second and the Yule before..then we sing and get excited about the birth of the SUN GOD (some call Jesus, Horus, Holly King) and then we light five candles on that log (the log is used every year) one for healing for the planet earth, one for healing of people on this planet with love, one for those who hunger for food, one for those who need healing of mind, and one for those who need a roof over their heads and clothing on their backs. We know that we have all given as much as we can to these causes this year (we gather for these causes all year long)…and we believe and have faith that this planet and the people will become more aware of these needs and differences.
Then after we light all five candles we sing a praise rejoice song (this little light of mine) for the birth of the NEW future that is bright…and we all will light our candles off of that log and take home a candle to burn in our windows to show others and remind ourselves that WE our the light in this world. WE must make a difference, and that a thankful heart, and a loving spirit is what transforms the planet moment by moment. LIGHT a yule log, and continue a tradition!
