Serving God or Gimbels?

November 25, 2013 in Featured Question of the Week, Question of the Week, Spotlight Answers, Thanksgiving shopping by L. LaSimba Gray, Jr.

Once again our society has opened the door to materialism and we will loose another sacred day of  worship, family devotion and family fellowship. Traditionally, employers gave their workers  Thanksgiving Day off to spend with family as a reward for faithfulness to the business or company.

For a while there will be union meetings while disgruntled employees who will fall out of bed at 4 a.m. to open up stores at 6 a.m. and then the transition of acceptance will take place and we will, without protest, experience another loss of contributing factors to family stability. We must remember, “as goes the family so goes the society.”

At the rate we are turning our backs to God and embracing culture over Christ, God will have one of two options, destroy America and start over or make an apology to Sodom and Gomorrah. I am afraid the former will be our plight.
