Judging sins and sinners

August 12, 2013 in Featured Question of the Week, Question of the Week, Spotlight Answers, Who am I to judge? by Bob McBride

When Jesus Christ restored his Church to the earth in 1830, he called apostles and prophets just as he did when He lived upon the earth. One of the responsibilities of the prophets as well as bishops who serve under their direction is to act as a common judge among the people, assisting them to overcome the temptations of the world and to become more Christ like.   Just as  Noah, Samuel,  Moses and other prophets warned their people when they strayed from divine laws and principles, the apostles and prophets who lead the Lord’s Church today stand as witnesses  to the world and declare sin as sin while encouraging God’s children to obey the commandments and come follow Him. Let us hate the sin but love the sinner and assist all to come unto Christ.
