At our annual Thanksgiving service we read the French folk tale of Stone Soup.  By village families sharing a little a feast was enjoyed by all for the traveling soldiers.  After the service everyone is invited to a soup lunch and are encouraged to make a donation for the MIFA food bank.  Local congregations in partnernship with Memphis City Schools can likewise share resources for continuing the pre-k classes.  One idea is to create a Web site where resources needed are identified.  Congregations may then commit to how they will participate in a Stone Soup version of a pre-k program.
