The irony and horror of leg amputations at a marathon is beyond disturbing. The image of a father crossing the finish line and not knowing where his child is really hits home with me. I completed two Boston Marathons, one with my wife in the crowd, the other with my children following the race on-line. I qualified again for last week’s marathon but did not go this time. When I heard the bombings had occurred around 4:09, I immediately thought of how the largest crowds are always there then..and my prayers have been with the wounded and their families ever since.
