Civil rights figure and former ambassador Andrew Young will be the keynote speaker at the first Church Health Conference April 4-7.
The conference, “Healthy Communities, Communities of Faith,” is being sponsored by the Church Health Center at the Cook Convention Center.
The conference will include two dedicated focus tracks, one for faith community nurses and another for those interested in starting faith-based clinics to serve the uninsured:
• The Westberg Symposium – a dedicated conference and retreat for faith nurses produced in partnership with the International Parish Nurse Resource Center, which became a part of the Church Health Center last year.
• An enhanced Church Health Center Replication Workshop produced in partnership with ECHO (Empowering Community Healthcare Outreach), a not-for-profit organization that brings consultation and expertise to faith-based health ministries (www.echoclinics.org).
Conference registration is open for $300. There is an additional fee of $120 for pre-conference workshops. Student registration fees are $240.
