At the outset of the Bible, it states that man was made in the image and likeness of God.  That statement must refer to the spiritual identity of each of us, whether we are “religious” or not.  Often someone religious is thought of as “zealous”—a desirable attribute when it means diligent in doing truly good work and good thinking.  So, I hope each of us recognizes our identity as spiritual so that we are always encouraged to love and to practice what is truly good.
