Debt is big. Prayers are bigger.

On issues like the fiscal cliff, we are sometimes tempted to think each of us has to figure out the right course for the country and then to argue and lobby for that position. For those not in a policy-making position, isn’t it perhaps more effective to spend a few moments each day in prayer?
Many have trusted that listening quietly for God’s guidance brings solutions that have not occurred to us. We should have as much confidence that it is also an effective prayer to acknowledge that “the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king, he will save us.”
