Support the work of MIFA

What should we – individually and collectively – be doing differently about hunger issues in our community?
I take this opportunity to commend MIFA for what it has done and is doing. Several years ago when I served on the MIFA Board, I was astounded to slowly learn about all the many other services rendered by this wonderful organization which, since it was founded in 1968, has been emulated by cities all across our Nation. MIFA was founded almost immediately after the Sanitation Strike which brought Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. to Memphis for his last days on earth. Its not just about “Meals on Wheels,” as important as that is, but a great variety of additional services to the needy. One of the many things we can do is…support MIFA which reaches out where many of us who are blessed from Above are not aware of and does charitable work that most of us are not able to.
