After the Election
November 2, 2012 in The Question by Teri-Hayslett
As Election Day 2012 approaches, seems like a good time to give voters AND candidates some neighborly counsel.
Regardless of who wins . . .
If you were addressing the nation on Wednesday, Nov. 7, the DAY AFTER the election, what would you say? What advice would you offer to your fellow Americans about the next four years?

Reading my Facebook page, this morning after the election, convinces me that my friends hate each other. Jesus brought down the wall of hostility with his own body that the church might be united in a community that exists above politics, culture and class in a little thing called the Church. He did so on the premise we are all losers and yet winners in and only in Him. We all lost, and yet all won if Jesus is the Christ. And we are one in Him. He did too much for us to allow an election to divide us. We must support and pray for our president today as I pray we did yesterday and worship, meaning put our hope in, Jesus This is a perfect time to detect our real hope, whether our guy won or lost, repent and draw near to Jesus. If we don’t we are not winning or losing we are just being played by our flesh and the real enemy. Let’s be His Body today and show the world how Jesus’ love is better than our guy winning or losing. One thing is true, Jesus is the same yesterday, today and he will be the same tomorrow. His kingdom is advancing and no earthly government can successfully advance it or slow it down. So get behind it today by loving mercy, doing justice and walking humbly with God. Thank you Jesus and please help us, your Church, to get over us and be all about you!
