Matthew Surber has accepted an offer to become the new pastor of Central Church in Collierville.

Surber comes to Memphis from Nashville, where he has been lead pastor of Fellowship at Two Rivers. He also served as the student and campus pastor at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas for nine years and was the senior pastor at Istrouma Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, La., for three years.

Surber follows Ernie Frye, who left this past summer to lead a mission to Africa. Frye was pastor since 2004.
