Why make voting even harder for the poor?

Are you concerned about new voter ID laws? Are we doing enough to prevent fraud and other problems? How can we make voting as accessible as possible while still safeguarding the democratic process?
It is undeniable that new voter ID laws will make it harder for hundreds of thousands of poor Americans to vote. Many citizens do not have the means to get a driver’s license, nor do they have the time or money to get other forms of government identification. Furthermore, cases of voter fraud related to the ID issue are numerically miniscule. The fraud is that more Americans do not vote. Why make voting even more inaccessible for the poor?
