Why have voter registration cards?

Are you concerned about new voter ID laws? Are we doing enough to prevent fraud and other problems? How can we make voting as accessible as possible while still safeguarding the democratic process?
This is a topic that I have very strong negative feelings toward. I see no merit in these ID requirements at all. If a person’s voter registration card is not valid enough as an ID then there is no point in having one. Personally, I cannot possibly believe that it is legal under the 1965 Voting Rights Law. The African-American community is very suspicious that this requirement is coming into effect at a time when the first African American president is up for reelection. I think it undermines the democratic process.
