New voter ID laws
August 17, 2012 in The Question by Teri-Hayslett
Tennessee and Mississippi are among states that have passed new, stricter voter ID laws. Mississippi and Tennessee tightened existing voter ID laws to require photo ID.
These new requirements have provoked controversy. Critics see the stricter laws as part of a new voter suppression movement. Supporters see it as a legitimate effort to prevent voter fraud.
What’s your view? Are you concerned about new voter ID laws? Are we doing enough to prevent fraud and other problems? How can we make voting as accessible as possible while still safeguarding the democratic process?
