Wright is newest COGIC bishop

William S. Wright, pastor of New Liberty COGIC, has been named Bishop-Designee of the newly created Tennessee Southwest Jurisdiction.
William S. Wright, pastor of New Liberty COGIC, has been named Bishop-Designee of the newly created Tennessee Southwest Jurisdiction, which will consist of 23 congregations across the state.
Wright was appointed by the church’s General Board and approved by its General Assembly. He will be installed during the Holy Convocation in November.
Wright, a native Memphian, is a 1973 graduate of Hamilton High and a third-generation member of the Church of God in Christ. He has served as pastor of the Liberty Church of God in Christ since 1990. Liberty COGIC has two locations in the Memphis area.
