Tim Keller speaking in Memphis May 17

Tim Keller, pastor and best-selling author, will speak at 7 p.m. May 17 at Christ United Methodist Church. Keller, founding pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York City, will be this year’s featured speaker in the Dorothy and Kemmons Wilson Speaker Series sponsored by the Kemmons Wilson Family Foundation. The public is invited to attend this free community event.
Keller’s ministry is notable for its missional approach, planting more than 100 churches through Redeemer City to City. His books include “The Reason for God,” “The Prodigal God” and “Counterfeit Gods.” His newest book is “Generous Justice,” which is also the topic for his speech in Memphis.
The Dorothy and Kemmons Wilson Speaker Series honors Holiday Inn founder Kemmons Wilson and his wife Dorothy, both of whom were dedicated members of Christ United Methodist Church, 4488 Poplar. Previous speakers have included John MacArthur, Tony Campolo, Tony Dungy, John Maxwell and Max Lucado.
Christ United Methodist Church is hosting this event in partnership with: Christ City Church, Christian Brothers University, Fellowship Memphis, First Evangelical Church, Idlewild Presbyterian, Independent Presbyterian, Memphis Theological Seminary, Memphis Center for Urban Theological Studies (MCUTS), Mullins United Methodist, New Direction Christian Church, Rhodes College, Second Baptist, Second Presbyterian and St. Peter’s Catholic.
