How can we live responsibly as devout and faithful adherents of one religion in a world (and community) of many religions?
My favorite bumper sticker proclaims: “God is too big for one religion.” Theological humility guides a believer to live responsibly within a diverse world. Sadly, such humility is in short supply. When we smugly assert that we’ve got God in our pocket, we find ourselves creating painful toxic messes from burnt holy books to bombed holy shrines. God is too big for one religion (and some of us are too big for our britches).
